Derya. Istanbul, Turkey.

Derya is the Turkish cousin of the Turkish husband of my German cousin. With his long hair and goatee, he was quite special among the Turkish guests at the Turkish wedding where we first met in 1998. Despite of his new hair cut, Derya is still rocking Istanbul, and I got to pogo to brilliant covers of NMA, RATM, RHCP, Nirvana, and other all-time favorites at a concert of Derya's band at Yildiz University. In addition to their good musical taste, Derya and his brother Cem are also very nice chaps, but unfortunately they were buried in exams when I visited Istanbul. In any event, staying at my extended family for 5 days felt like staying at my closest family (in the positive sense).
