Karen studied one term at Hamburg University as a grantee of Copernicus, a student organization that I once co-chaired. He just finished his Ph.D. in medicine (physiology), and seems to be a coming star in medical science, as far as I can tell from the publications he showed to me. I spent three nice days at his family's, enjoying their hospitality, Karen's splendid company, and the visual delights of his cousins.
